Vice President of Clinical Services

Barry Buls, PharmD

I became a pharmacist because I thought it would be a fulfilling way to provide for my family in a trusted profession. After graduating from pharmacy school, I worked community and hospital pharmacy for 15 years, but I didn’t feel I was able to connect with my patients like I wanted to. I was given the opportunity to move into the home infusion side of pharmacy and found I was able to spend more time with my patients; and get to see the bigger picture of the care and needs that were being met, or often ignored or denied. When we founded CSI Pharmacy, we did so with 5 patients that had been denied care by their previous home infusion agency because they were too difficult to care for; or didn’t have the ability to afford their medications and supplies. Our team decided day one that we would make it our personal mission to find the patients who have fallen through the cracks of the medical system and find any way possible to provide the needed therapy for them. We chose autoimmune diseases as our primary focus of care and started working within these communities with physicians, nurses, and patients to provide the level of care required by these life changing diseases. I am honored to call CSI Pharmacy my home and honored to serve our patients in the best of times and the worst of times. I am truly happy when a patient tells us that their lives are getting easier or better because we have made a difference in their care. I am blessed to work with such a great team of like-minded people who have dedicated their lives to making a difference in a patient’s care.
