A Quick Guide to Infusion Therapy

Step One

CSI Pharmacy intake specialists contact the prescribing health care provider to request the patient’s most recent clinical information, demographics, and medication orders.

Step Two

Our intake specialists reach out to the patient to let them know that we have received the referral from the provider. They will acquire additional needed information, such as insurance information, allergies, and other medications they are taking.

Step Three

CSI Pharmacy’s insurance team contacts the patient to verify insurance coverage and initiate the prior authorization process.

Step Four

Once therapy is approved by the insurance plan, our intake specialists assist in enrolling the patient in copay assistance plans, if available and necessary.

Step Five

Intake specialists contact the patient to let them know the extent of insurance and copay coverage and to confirm their acceptance of services.

Step Six

The CSI Pharmacy pharmacist reviews all patient information then contacts the patient to discuss a treatment plan tailored to their specific needs. This plan of care is also shared with the prescribing physician. The pharmacist also arranges for the medication, supplies, and equipment to be sent to the patient’s home.

Step Seven

The CSI Pharmacy nurse contacts the patient to schedule the infusion. CSI Pharmacy nurses stay with the patient in the home for the duration of the infusion to monitor response to the medication and respond to medical concerns as needed. Our team is available to answer your questions or concerns 24/7/365.
